Schedule changes

When a shoot date moves, CrewShift never silently rewrites anyone's dates — it asks. Affected crew get a request they can accept, counter, or decline.

When a date changes

A producer can edit a project's shooting days at any time. When that edit affects someone already in negotiation or already booked, CrewShift raises a schedule change request for each affected crew member rather than moving their dates for them. The producer sees a confirmation of how many crew were notified.

The request carries the proposed new dates (the project's new window) alongside the crew member's old agreed dates, plus an optional reason from the producer.

Responding

The request lands in both sides' Inbox, shown with the project, the role, and the old and new date windows. It works like a negotiation: you can

  • accept the proposed dates,
  • counter with different dates (and a day rate where it's relevant),
  • decline, or
  • cancel (the producer can rescind their own request).

You only act when the request is awaiting you — when the ball is in the other court, it sits in your list showing whose turn it is.

If the booking was already confirmed — that is, a signed deal memo exists — accepting re-signs the deal memo with the new dates. The crew member types their name to sign again, exactly as they did the first time. Declining a confirmed booking leaves the original deal in place, so coordinate with the other side to sort it out.

Following the status

A request moves through a few states:

  • Pending — awaiting a reply from the party shown.
  • Countered — the other side proposed different dates, and the turn passes back.
  • It then resolves to accepted, declined, or cancelled, and leaves the open list.
