Signing in
CrewShift has no passwords. You sign in with Google, with Apple, or with a code we email you. The very first time, your invitation or an access code decides whether the account is crew or producer.
Ways to sign in
The sign-in page gives you three options:
- Continue with Google uses your Google account.
- Continue with Apple uses your Apple ID.
- For email, enter your address and tap Send magic link.
The email holds a link and a 6-digit code. Type the code on the Check your email screen and tap Verify code, or tap the link in the email. Either works. The link only works in the browser you asked for it in. If you open the email on another device, type the code instead.
If you installed CrewShift on your home screen, always type the code. The link opens your browser, and on iPhone the browser and the installed app keep separate sessions, so you'd be signed in in Safari but still signed out in the app (Signing in on the installed app).
The email didn't arrive
- Look in your spam folder and mark noreply@crewshift.app as a safe sender.
- Tap Resend code on the Check your email screen. Use the code from the newest email.
- If you mistyped your address, tap Use a different email and start over.
The code is valid for 10 minutes. If the app says "Invalid code. Try again.", tap Resend code and use the new one.
Asking for a lot of codes in a short time gets you "Too many requests". Wait a minute, then try once more.
Invited by a producer
A producer's invitation email has a Sign in to view offer button. Tap it to sign in. If the link has expired or was already used, go to the sign-in page, enter the invited address and tap Send magic link.
Sign in with the address the invitation went to. CrewShift uses that address to link you to the offer, and you can't change it yourself afterwards (info@crewshift.app can). The same goes for Continue with Google and Continue with Apple: the account has to carry the invited address. Apple's Hide My Email hands CrewShift a different address, so the offer can't be matched to you.
On the installed app, open CrewShift from your home screen, enter the invited address, tap Send magic link and type the code from that email.
An invitation skips the access code. You fill in Set up your crew profile once and land in your Inbox, where the offer is waiting. Getting started as crew picks it up from there.
Access code
CrewShift is invite-only for now. If no producer invited you, your first sign-in opens Enter your access code. Type the code you were given (it looks like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and tap Continue. The code sets your role, so a producer code gives you a producer account.
If the code is refused, the message says why:
- Not valid: check it for typos and try again.
- Used up: the code has been redeemed as many times as it allows.
- Expired: the code ran past its end date.
- No longer works: it was switched off.
For the last three, ask whoever gave you the code for a new one. With no code at all, ask whoever invited you to CrewShift.
If a producer invited you and you still land on this screen, you signed in with a different address than the invitation went to. Tap Sign out at the bottom and sign in again with the invited address.
One account, one role
Each account is crew or producer, and that doesn't change. A producer's address can't be invited as crew. If you produce on one job and work crew on the next, use a separate email address for each role.
Sign out
Go to Settings → Your data and tap Sign out. It signs you out on this device only (Your data).
Still stuck
Email info@crewshift.app. Include the address you're signing in with and what the screen says.
